Established during California’s Gold Rush in the 1840s, our ranch first featured an early settler’s home. We restored and live in the original Victorian that was built in 1902.
We have two crystal clear streams, French Creek and Miners Creek, that flow directly from our gorgeous mountains and meet right on our ranch. That is why our pastures can be (and are!) deep rooted ditch irrigated – this method of irrigation dates back to the origins of the ranch and it supports our conservation practices.
We grow our own beef, lamb, and vegetables using regenerative and sustainable practices and we also have apple and pear trees that are original to the ranch.
Our ranch participates in numerous conservation programs (like the Conservation Reserve Program) that support wildlife. For example, the creeks are fenced off for the Salmon and Steelhead migration and spawning. It is also the home of a variety of wildlife including bears, mountain lions, bobcats, fox, elk, coyotes, deer, beavers and many more.
Rebecca Schenone purchased the ranch in the 1990s and began restoring it to its original beauty. Her children, Raquel and Aurora were raised on the ranch and grew up surrounded by farm animals and a wholesome lifestyle.
Rebecca earned degrees in agriculture and nutrition, which prompted the family to ranch and farm. She worked as a ranger for California State Parks for 25 years and after retirement studied at Living Light Culinary Arts Institute and Alissa Cohen Live Food Chef Schools, becoming a certified Chef. Now she is persuing her original dream to provide wholesome foods and nutrinional education on the ranch.
